Spent 6 hours yesterday helping edit a communication to the UN regarding the LHC that is being prepared by James Blodgett and others.
Maybe some of our efforts have been bearing a little fruit - back in February, noted physicist Tony Rothman blogged that, of course the 'cosmic ray' argument about any black holes that might be created flying off into space was a bad one, because, of course, any black holes created at the LHC would be 'almost at rest' . Well, glad to know we can look forward to the day when there's no need to explain that one over and over.
For the moment the monster is offline until November and I hope for more delays.
