We are a society of dupes. All this howling and howling about MPs' little perks has predictably drawn the fickle public's attention away from the real thieves and villains - the bankers.
The pilloried politicians probably just consulted their accountants and acted accordingly. They hadn't realised the public expects them to be plaster saints. Ask a few big business people about their perks and bonuses? No, we couldn't do that. The spoiled children of democracy only want to bring the House down. The bankers were last week's aunt sally, time to move on.
Britain's Big Brother watching political ignoramuses deserve a fascist regime and sadly the country is taking its first steps towards being one.
Maybe the BNP vote in the coming elections will produce the necessary scare to make the media back off.
